Chteau Fontvert is located near the village of Lourmarin in the heart of the Luberon Mountains. The estate was founded in 1598, but for the last three centuries, the land has been cultivated by the Monod family. In 1999, Jrme Monod and his three sons decided to take all winemaking duties in-house, and since 2008, the 20ha of vineyards have been certified both organic and biodynamic. Vines are planted at the foot of the Luberon Mountain on hillside parcels giving a cooling effect to the vineyards, which, when combined with the limestone and sandy marl soils, helps retain natural acidty. All the grapes are hand harvested, and fermentations are exclusively with native yeast. One of the most progressive and exciting (not to mention crazy value) estates in Luberon today.
