A single vineyard wine of the legendary Turley winery. The estate itself is based in Napa and was started by Larry Turley in 1993. Under Turley himself and head winemaker Tegan Passalacqua, the Turley project focuses on highlighting old vine vineyards of Zinfandel and Petite Syrah scattered throughout California. This approach has lead them to create litterally dozens of single vineyard wines to showcase the distinct fruit of the state. The Kirschenmann vineyard has particular importance as it is owned and farmed by Passalacqua himself. The vineyard was planted in 1915, with ungrafted vines in the Mokelumne River AVA. The vineyard is dry-farmed and is mostly Zinfandel with small amounts of Mondeuse, Cinsault, and Carignane mixed in.

After hand harvesting, the grapes of the vineyard are co-fermented naturally. The wine is then aged for 15 months in 80% French and 20% American oak barrels (with 20% of that being new). The wine is then bottled unfined and unfiltered.
