Located directly across the dirt road from the winery, Chapelle des Bois is 1.8 hectares of vines ranging from 20-70 years of age. With a deeper topsoil than its south/southeast-facing neighbor Clos de la Grand'Cour, this vineyard faces north and slopes downward toward the village of Fleurie. Traditional vinification without sulfur and with natural yeast at very low temperatures. Semi-carbonic maceration, aged 9 monhts in foudre and little or no filtering. Jean-Louis describes Chapelle des Bois as the "vin de soif" in the lineup...a gulpable, thirst quencher indeed! Often the most delicate, feminine wine of the group with lift, lots of freshness and floral, fruity punch.
