In the Landes, Bas Armagnac. Sandy clay soil that is great for Baco. The Comtesse Claire De Montesquiou bought this estate in 1991. 20 ha for wine and 10ha for Armagnac. Natural wine. Harvested in mid September in 2012. Fermented to 9% abv. Comes off the still between 52 and 54% abv. New oak for 18 months. Exclusively Gascogne oak. Medium toast on all the barrels. No additives, no color adjustment, no sweetness adjustment. 100% Baco. Youngest brandy is 10 years. 40.3% abv. Rich reddish gold color, all the way through (no rim to speak of). Beautiful orange flower/orange peel notes on the nose. Very dramatic and balanced aromas. Intense structure, and dry. Light and buoyant. Gorgeous Crepes Suzettes. Still very lively. Excellent concentration.
