From the heart of Brooklyn comes a lineup of amazing Italian spirits, courtesy of Faccia Brutto (now in mini size)! This is their take on a Centerbe, a traditional Abruzzese liqueur from the Apennine mountains. It was meant as an herbal tonic using mountain herbs to settle the stomach after meals and for other various medicinal purposes. If that sounds similar to Chartreuse, you would be correct as they are very similar sorts of liqueur.
The liqueur itself is made via 2 infusions in non-GMO neutral grain spirit. The first uses dried herbs over the span of a week to create the base canvas of flavors. The second uses fresh herbs over the span of 1 day for color and for aromatics. This tincture is then proofed down to a robust 45% ABV and sweetened with organic cane sugar. If you're having a tough time getting Chartreuse Green, this is the closest subsitute by far!
