Old Grand Dad Bourbon Bottled in Bond 1L

A Slopey favorite. Toffee, clove, honey, coffee beans on the nose. Spicy cherry cola, dark chocolate, orange peel on the palate. Just solid old school Kentucky bourbon goodness. Bottled in bond, 50% abv. In 1987 when Beam, Inc., acquired a handful of bourbon brands from National Distillers, the only one not to become bottled from regular Jim Beam juice was Old Grand-Dad, whose revered high-rye recipe was retained. The mash bill reportedly contains around 30% rye, twice as much as the standard Jim Beam recipe. Created in the 1840s by Raymond B. Hayden, and named after his beloved Grandpa and bourbon pioneer, Basil Hayden.
