A racy, light white that is part of a lineup of easy drinking and accessable wines out of Monferrato DOC. The grapes are from Azienda Agricola Gaia in the province of Alessandria in Piedmont. The idea of Prima Piuma is a collaberation between Gaia's oenologist Gianluca Ravizza and Summer Wolff, who lives 2 hills over in the farm Cascina Iuli. The Gaia estate itself is a polyculture farm of fruit orchards and organic grapes. This bottling is a blend of 85% Sauvignon Blanc and 15% Riesling (all organic) that was fremented with native yeasts and aged in concrete tanks.
This refreshing minerally white has notes of cut grass, pears, flint and petrichor.
