A lean varietal Pinot Noir from a family-owned estate in Hainfeld,Pfalz in southwest Germany not far from the French border. This estate was created in 1990 when Annette Borell and Thomas Diehl married and joined their properties together. The estate grapes are hand harvested and pesticide/herbicide use is kept to an absolute minimum.
The wine itself is made from 100% Pinot Noir grown on limestone, sandstone and loess soils. After harvest the grapes are fermented in tanks and aged in large, neutral French oak barrels.
This amazing value wine has notes of raspberries, sage, flint and cranberries.
