A varietal Petit Verdot made by Ginny Povall in the Stellenbosch, just west of Cape Town. The grapes are from the Protea Hights farm which began life in the 1940's as a farm for South Africa's national flower, the protea flower. Now under Ginny Povall's ownership, the farm is a mix of indigenous flowers and organic grapes.
This muscular yet floral wine has notes of Choward's violet mints, blackberries, cinnamon, and tarragon.
