100% un-peated malt. 46.3% abv. Natural colour. 20% oloroso sherry casks, 20% first full bourbon casks, 60% refill scotch casks. Spring fed Artesian well water. The name of the distillery translates to ?mouth of the river? in Scots Gaelic. The water supply is the Margadale Spring. A metallic, coppery thing comes through on the nose, with hints of vegetal matter, flowers and vanilla fudge back there somewhere as well. This is Islay, so definitely a little sea brine. Quite a bit softer than the monsters in the south of the island. Peppery burst at the front. Grassy and gingery. A touch of richness which rides the rail into a focused, dry and very long finish. This is a rich, opulent gem.
