COS Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico has been a solid standby for quite some time. When thinking about all the different places I've enjoyed this wine, I am reminded of Dr. Seuss's Green Eggs and Ham. "Here and There and Anywhere!"
It's made of two native Sicillian grapes, Nero D'Avola and Frappato. This perfect marriage results in a delicious medium bodied red wine with notes of black raspberry, violets, smoke, and anise. It's flexible with many different kinds of dishes, or in many different kinds of places! In Mexico City at Cafe Hugo with potato gnocchi in a rotisserie chicken a'jus. At home in Madrid with a warm bowl of Barco de Avila beans. Or the time we had it in on a boat, in the Bay of Biscay, while staring back at Biarritz gorging on garlicky razor clams and crusty bread! My friends, you can drink it here you can drink it there, you can drink it anywhere!
