A beautiful and rich white from a seminal natural producer. Dard & Ribo is the project of René-Jean Dard and François Ribo, both natives of the Rhone valley. Having met in wine school in Beaune they started their winery in a back alley in Tain-L'Hermitage with a hectare of vines from Dard's family, slowly adding to their holdings as the years went on. The pair are the pioneers of natural winemaking in the Rhone, delivering sans-souffre wines redolent of place while still practicing proper stewardship of the cellar.
This particular wine is a blend of organic Marsanne and Roussanne from their various holdings. The vines are planted on clay, gravel and alluvial soils. The grapes are direct pressed so that the juice can naturally ferment and age in oak casks and barrels. The wine is bottled unfined, unfiltered and with no added SO2.
This opulent wine without artifice has notes of saffron, apricots, beeswax and green olives.
