Kelly Fox is a highly regarded wine maker known for creating wines of place, and her Pinot Noir certainly does not disappoint. This wine is silky, almost ethereal, with beautiful floral notes, and a delicate transparency. It is serious, balanced and structured, while remaining absolutely delicious. It tastes of cherry, violets, and spruce tips, but more than that it tastes like the Willamette valley, and Oregonian woodland. There are many things that would pair well with this wine, but I will be serving it with mushrooms sautéed in sage butter, for an experience that is earthy, sweet, and effortlessly complex.
