Michel Couvreur was a Belgian winemaker and marketer who became involved in the whiskey trade after making frequent trips to Scotland in the 1950's. A vatting of various 12 year old whiskies aged in sherry casks bottled in Michel's cave under Burgundy. 43% abv. Serious smokey campfire nose. Nice fruity flavors on entry. Gentle smoke on the palette, soft mouthfeel. Dramatic stuff. Vivid. Joyous. Smokey salty. Fruity, plump, nice smoke, perky. Special and artisanal. Some cool, funky and wild flavors from the sherry barrels.
