Hails from Soquel, CA. Distilled in a traditional but small (100 gal) Chartentais still from Pinot Noir, Colombard and Semillon. Minimum of 6 years age in 100% Limousin barrels 350 and 400 L). Sampled from Lot #5, 1800 bottles. Complex aromas, orange marmalade and candied citrus. Mint nose. More Armagnac than Cognac, but definitely somewhere in between. Big, brawny fruit notes. Like a real kola, more root-y and earthy bitter. A touch of the rancio comes out in the middle. Ginger mint. Some burly structural characteristics. An almost savory note on the finish.
