"Solfare" means "to sulfur" but in this case it actually derives from the name a particular geologic formation of rock sulfur in the area.
The grapes for this wine come from the Contrada Torre di Salto d'Angio. The vines are over 40 years old and alberello converted to pergola. The contrada is about 500m elevation with various expositions depending on the parcel going from north to northwest.
