A really supreme example of a Duoro red wine! Made from 100% Touriga Franca grapes it spends 18 months in large, traditional oak ‘foudres’ allowing it to develop slowly over time.
A beautiful violet color in the glass the nose is dark fruit, verdant with flowers and a subtle pepperiness. On the palate there is chocolate, fruits of the forest, cherries and figs, with green pepper and cinnamon that are almost Cabernet Franc like. It is elegant, supple, layered and textural all while being finely grained and svelt with a long persistent finish. Truly an exceptional wine at this pricepoint!
