Young dynamic winemaker Xavier Weisskopf in Montlouis is farming organically since 2005. Montlouis, which faces Vouvray across the broad Loire river, is roughly one-fifth the size of its illustrious neighbor, all the while making equally interesting and superb wines.
This Chenin is zippy, tart, a bit of lemon curd, white peach, on the palate with a freshness that lingers long past the finish.
