Crafted by Master Distiller Carlos Padilla for over a quarter century. The Padilla family situated the distillery on a natural volcanic spring after a diving rod was used to find the spring about a quarter mile under the earth’s surface in the highlands of Jalisco near San Julian. With a sustainable source of water found, only two other ingredients were needed – blue Weber agave and yeast. Unlike many distilleries, all the blue Weber for Tepozan is organically grown on the estate, then harvested by hand by local jimadors, before being meticulously processed with absolutely no additives of any kind (Tepozan is certified Additive Free). Tepozan is baked in stone hornos before the fermentation process with only natural yeast in open steel tanks. The name and logo is in reference to the tepozan plant or “butterfly bush” which is native to the area around the distillery and attracts a huge diversity of butterflies.
High-toned green aromatics, fresh poblano, lime, silky and lifted palate.
