You know my love for Italy runs deep, and that if I had to drink one wine over and over again, it'd probably be a Nebbiolo. I will never tire of it. If I am making a hearty sausage ragu over pasta, or a braised chicken cacciatore, or hell, if my day is done and I want to put my feet up and cozy up to a good book in front of my (streaming on the tv) fireplace, a Nebbiolo is what I reach for.
The Valfaccenda Roero Nebbiolo 2021 is exactly that: pristine cherries, a soft camphor heat of eucalyptus and pine trees, so quintessentially Nebbiolo, with these tannins that feel upright but not austere. Just pitch perfect.
